Back to the Basics
my guiding principles
I wrote the following on a red-eye flight 4/22/23
I am writing this from the airplane on my way back home. I spent this past week in California doing exactly what I do at home on the east coast β reading, writing, thinking β except I was mostly disconnected from the world, being nurtured and cared for by my friend and her husband. We worked, we laughed, we ate, we watched stupid TV, we slept. I felt connected and in community.
Being around people who allowed me to just be for a week straight created an environment that fostered in me a profound sense of self-transcendence and reconnection with the self. I gained a deeper understanding of my guiding principles:
Be present β do one thing at a time.
Do it slowly.
Do less, but better.
Notice what your body needs β notice what you move towards.
Move toward (do) what is calling you. This helps sharpen intuition.
Focus on the process. Get rid of the image of the βidealβ outcome.
Committing to your intention builds self-trust.
